Here he is...

Sorry it's taken so long to post a few pictures. Actually, these came from Amber's camera, so there still wouldn't be any without her. (Thanks Amber! ) =)
Grant Lawson came into this world on February 27th at 6:59pm. He weighed 8 lbs and 6 oz. and was 22 inches long. We had his 2 week checkup yesterday, and he is already 9 lbs. and 13 oz. So far, he is a pretty good baby, although occasionally he chooses to be awake in the middle of the night...
Drew loves his new baby brother, and is always wanting to give him kisses and "squeezes".  He has been such a big helper lately. Well, I hear my little sweetie now, so I better go. Hope to post more pictures later!

About Grant...

I realized last night after I posted that I had never officially said the new baby's name. I was just talking about Grant like I do to Drew.  I even looked back on a few posts to make sure I was right. Sure enough, one day out of the blue I just started talking about a person named Grant. Well, anyway, so you know by now that is what we are going to call our new son. His full name will be Grant Lawson Frederick. Grant is actually from my side of the family - my maternal grandmother's maiden name. Lawson is Paul's grandpa's middle name - Jacob Lawson Frederick. Everybody we've told so far says the name sounds kind of western-y. To be honest, Grant was about the only boy name we could agree and settle on. (Paul didn't really give any options to choose from, he just didn't like any of the other names I picked out!) The only problem - I keep having dreams that the baby is a girl (we've had two ultrasounds and both say boy). We don't have ANY girl names picked...

I don't think he gets it yet...

So, I thought I had explained to Drew about Grant coming pretty well. I thought he got it. He knew that Grant was coming, that he is going to be a little baby when he comes, and that we are going to have to take care of him. Pretty good, right? Well, that's what I thought until tonight. I was praying with Drew before bed like we always do, and afterward, Drew started cheering, "Yeah! Gant come to see us!" (He doesn't say his r's very well; if you ask him his name, he'll say Dew.) So, I said, "Yes, Grant is coming to see us in a few more weeks." Suddenly, he stopped bouncing, looked at me very seriously and said, "We go to Gant's house?" That's when I knew I had a little more explaining to do! Oh well, I suppose he'll figure it out soon.

Aside from a few sniffles here and there, I think we are finally over our sickness. Drew was so excited when we woke up this morning about going back to the "nursy." I have to admit, I was pretty excited myself. The services at church were a blessing today. After missing all the the Faithful Men's Meeting (I did see a some of it on the internet), it was a blessing to be back among God's people.

Sick of being sick..

I am so ready to not be sick anymore! It's been three weeks since I went to church on a Sunday... Drew and I have been passing a sinus/ upper respiratory infection back and forth for a while, and we can't seem to get over it. In fact, this past Sunday, we ended up taking Drew to the emergency room with a high fever. I don't usually run to the doctor for every little thing, but his temp was 104.3, and he didn't have any other symptoms. The doc said it was just part of the upper respiratory thing, and to watch him. He's been doing a lot better since then, but we're still not completely over it. I hope we get to go to church this Sunday. I've really missed the services and the fellowship with other believers. Drew asks me all of the time when he gets to go back to the nursery. I never thought I'd hear that from him (he used to cry every time we left him), but I'm glad he enjoys it.

Paul is on the road again. Pray for him when you think about it. He really misses being home with us. Drew is learning a lot these days (I taught him to count to ten, and he surprised me the other day by counting to twelve... Not sure where he learned it!), and I think Paul hates missing out on all the new things he's learning. Hopefully, he won't have to continue with this job for too long.

Long time, no post...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but there really hasn't been much going on around here lately to talk about. We had a great visit with my dad. Drew really enjoyed getting to play with his Poppa. Our Christmas was good. I enjoyed the time spent with family, and was grateful that Paul got to be home for part of it.
Since then, Paul has been home every weekend, which is a blessing, but we sure do miss him when he is gone during the week. I can't tell you how much. Last night he was in Delaware, and tonight, he is in Columbus, Ohio. He is supposed to be home tomorrow sometime. I miss him a lot.
Six more weeks until my due date! I can't wait. Drew keeps telling me that Grant is coming to see us and they are going to chicken dance. (His Grandma has a chicken dance Elmo.) I've been trying to explain that Grant is a little baby and that we are going to have to take care of him, but I don't think he gets it quite yet. Drew is excited about him coming, though. Usually, he'll clap his hands and say, "Yea! Grant come to see us!" I guess that's a start...

In case you were wondering,...

Paul did make it home this last weekend. It was so good to see him. His being gone so much makes me really appreciate the time we have when he is home. I am so thankful for a husband that is willing to work hard for our family, even when it isn't the most convenient or the most enjoyable thing.
I am very excited about my dad coming for a visit this weekend! Right now, he is with J.P. and Amber and he will be spending Christmas Day with them. Then I will get him from Friday until New Year's Eve. I'm so excited! I love my Daddy SO much! He has done so much for us in the last few months. Daddy, if you're reading this, we are so thankful for all that you have done for us, and hope that some day soon we will be able to repay not only what we owe you, but also for your generosity. Praise the Lord for Godly parents!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Home again, home again...

Last Thursday, Drew, Petie, and I took Bethany home to Illinois for her Christmas break. We had a pretty good visit with Paul's family, but I think all of us are glad to be home.
Paul has had a few ups and downs in the last week of truck driving. His truck broke down Saturday afternoon, and he was stuck at a truck stop in Pennsylvania until Monday afternoon. They finally got his truck fixed and he got on the road again. He's hoping to be home this weekend. I hope he's home this weekend!
Well, that's all for now. It sure is good to be home!
